Single-electron shuttle based on electron spin.
A nanoelectromechanical device based on magnetic exchange forces and electron spin flips induced by a weak external magnetic field is suggested. It is shown that this device can operate as a new type of single-electron "shuttle" in the Coulomb blockade regime of electron transport.
متن کاملPorphyrin Cobalt(III) "Nitrene Radical" Reactivity; Hydrogen Atom Transfer from Ortho-YH Substituents to the Nitrene Moiety of Cobalt-Bound Aryl Nitrene Intermediates (Y = O, NH).
In the field of cobalt(II) porphyrin-catalyzed metallo-radical reactions, organic azides have emerged as successful nitrene transfer reagents. In the pursuit of employing ortho-YH substituted (Y = O, NH) aryl azides in Co(II) porphyrin-catalyzed nitrene transfer reactions, unexpected hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) from the OH or NH₂ group in the ortho-position to the nitrene moiety of the key rad...
متن کاملNitrene transfer reactions catalyzed by gold complexes.
We report here the first gold-catalyzed nitrene transfer reaction. A gold(I) compound, supported by 4,4',4' '-tri-tert-butyl-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine (tBu3tpy) as the ligand, efficiently catalyzes olefin aziridination with the use of the commercially available oxidant PhI(OAc)2 and sulfonamides. This system also mediates carbene insertion into benzene.
متن کاملNitrene Radical Intermediates in Catalytic Synthesis
Nitrene radical complexes are reactive intermediates with discrete spin density at the nitrogen-atom of the nitrene moiety. These species have become important intermediates for organic synthesis, being invoked in a broad range of C-H functionalization and aziridination reactions. Nitrene radical complexes have intriguing electronic structures, and are best described as one-electron reduced Fis...
متن کاملAnatase-driven charge transfer involving a spin transition in cobalt iron cyanide nanostructures.
A charge transfer between Fe and Co in cobalt hexacyanoferrate has been observed for the first time by anatase doping. The charge transfer, which involves a spin transition at the Co site, is supported by high-resolution XANES spectra. EXAFS evidenced a consistent change (10%) of the Co-N first shell.
